About the owners: Gary and Bebe Smith live in the town of Kilauea, about 3 miles away from Anini Beach Hale. Close enough to be of assistance should you need them, but far enough away not to be pesky landlords! Gary was born in the Territory of Hawaii and spent his younger years growing up on Kauai and the Big Island of Hawaii. After university and working on Oahu, he returned home to Kauai in 1976. He is proud to be a 4th Generation resident of Hawaii and frequently gives talks on the history of the Kilauea region. Bebe was lured away from her native Vancouver, Canada by Gary's kama`aina charm and has lived on Kauai since their marriage in 1976. She has learned the true spirit of aloha which is hospitality. "I want people to know that Anini Beach Hale was created for them. It is not OUR house, it is THEIR home. I want them to experience Kauai as more than a visitor and find, as I have, paradise on earth!"
